More than 2 million Australian households now have solar!

Image
Over 2 million households in Australia now have solar - is it just a trend? It's no surprise that homeowners are switching to an economic and renewable source of energy - the prevalence of blackouts and high energy bills have made more people think about alternatives to the national grid. Being a renewable source of energy and one that homeowners can adopt easily makes solar the obvious alternative. It isn't just a trend - it's now becoming the natural progression for when you own your home. We're more conscious of our energy usage and our impact on the environment. It's amazing to see so many households committed to offsetting their energy usage by relying on the power of the sun 🌅 Check out my recent SlideShare for more information on solar power usage in Australia, and follow me on Instagram for more on solar and renewable energy.

Sea levels around the world are rising at a destructive rate - potentially affecting the livelihoods of those living in coastal regions - how? Since 1997, global sea levels have dramatically increased and pose a strong threat to coastal communities forcing some to migrate to higher land and move from their family communities. What can we do to prevent rising sea levels? Two of the main contributors to rising sea levels is from ice glacier melting and thermal expansion. By reducing our overall greenhouse gas emissions from our work and home lives, we can reduce the impact that rising sea levels are having on the world  🌍 For more on renewable energy, follow me on Instagram !

Whenever we think about being sustainable in our lives at home or at work, we often limit our thought journey to the distinct few applications, e.g. recycling, minimising use of plastics. Rice is one of the most sustainably produced grain in the world. Why? Rice requires a minimal amount of water during production and varieties like brown rice requires less processing. Let's take it one step deeper - let's be conscious of how our food is produced and how it impacts our environment. For more on sustainable living, follow me on Instagram !
