Embracing Hydroelectric Power
Hydroelectric power is helping fill the gap in the energy supply of Australian homes.
Many may be unaware, but hydroelectric power currently powers hundreds of thousands of properties all over Australia, accounting for a vast portion of the energy generated through renewable sources.
As water passes from a reservoir, it passes through a turbine (or energy generator). When the water passes through the turbine blades, the generator converts the motion into energy.
This source of energy has the potential to power households during peak demand periods to minimise grid outages.
